Honesty
The Virtue of Truthfulness
What is Honesty?
Honesty can refer to a virtue of truthfulness, whereby one values what is true and seeks to avoid spreading falsehood. This doesn't mean a blunt or reckless speaking of truth where it isn't ideal (e.g. volunteering personal information where not asked, a blunt truth that can be expressed better, etc.), but rather an interior love for truth and a desire for our words to match our beliefs.
How do we develop Honesty?
We foster truthfulness through reflecting on our approach to truthfulness and when we fail to be honest; as such, we develop this virtue through reflecting on our honesty, logging incidents where we failed to be honest, and planning for future scenarios to be more honest in those situations.
